What's Happening in Masafer Yatta?

On May 4, the Israel's highest court approved one of the largest forcible transfers of Palestinians from their land since 1967. Over 1,300 Palestinian residents of Masafer Yatta, an area in the south Hebron hills, are facing forced displacement by Israeli forces on a moment’s notice. International pressure is desperately needed to protect the Palestinians of Masafer Yatta from these war crimes.

On Monday at 11 am ET/6 pm Palestine, we are hosting an emergency briefing to hear from Ryah Aqel and Basil Al Adraa, two Palestinians from Masafer Yatta. Ryah, an organizer and filmmaker, has spent much of her life documenting the efforts of her family to stay on their land. Early this week, Basel was brutally beaten by Israeli occupation soldiers as he documented their entrance into his village of Tuwani.

We look forward to hearing updates with you.
