For decades, anti-pinkwashing activism opted to center well-intentioned global solidarity campaigning over grassroots-led efforts and education initiatives, shifting the narrative from one of settler-colonial violence, to a narrative of bad political practice and malicious marketing from the Israeli regime. Doing so has reduced Pinkwashing to a mere propaganda machine masquerading human rights abuses, rather than an active integrated part of the settler-colonial project in Palestine, threatening and undermining Palestinian life in historical Palestine, sociopolitically, culturally, and psychologically.
