Climate Change and Food Sovereignty in Gaza

As another Earth Day comes around, climate disasters continue to plague our world. We know that the environmental crisis is escalated by the military ambitions of colonialism and apartheid we are witnessing unfold in Jerusalem in real time. Organizing around climate justice, agriculture, and self-sufficiency are often depoliticized and, in Gaza in particular, are less understood and relegated to the humanitarian food security scene.

We are inviting you to join Adalah Justice Project and American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) for a conversation with Palestinian food sovereignty and climate activists Mohammad Abujayyab and Asmaa Abu Mezied to discuss their work to reverse these trends and build resistance through food sovereignty, labor, and agriculture in the context of Israel's occupation and blockade of Gaza.

Our campaign to compel Sierra Club to end its greenwashing of Israeli apartheid is a message for all environmental organizations: Palestine is part of earth justice.

Come learn more about the agricultural sector in Gaza and efforts to reclaim agency and self-determination through food sovereignty efforts. Register for this virtual event that will take place on Wednesday, May 4 at noon EDT (7PM Palestine).
