In June 2017, Adalah Justice Project organized a delegation of representatives from Adalah and partner organizations (Institute for Middle East Understanding, Center for Constitutional Rights, Defense for Children International-Palestine, American Friends Service Committee, Just Vision and Project South), to exchange key human rights concerns and strategies with local organizations including Equal Justice Initiative and the Southern Poverty Law Center. Adalah Justice Project arranged a private meeting with civil rights Attorney Fred Gray in Tuskegee, Alabama. Attorney Gray took on the cases of Claudette Colvin and Rosa Parks, whose actions sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Adalah attorneys and partners discussed litigation strategies and the necessity of protecting the right to dissent. Delegation member Katherine Franke described the encounter in her Boston Globe OpEd.
