15 years after the October 2000 events where 13 Palestinians were killed by Israeli police while protesting against the Occupation, the families and their representatives continue to demand accountability.From Haifa, the delegation included Majd Kayyal, a journalist, writer, and activist who has worked with Adalah’s media team since 2012. Majd is actively engaged in political efforts to expose injustice and entrenched supremacy in Israel and to secure human rights and liberation for Palestinians, both citizens of Israel and residents of the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Majd’s cousin, Aseel Asleh, was killed by Israeli police in the October 2000 events.
